The art displayed in the 'Underworld Reflections' gallery is unlike anything I've created previously, and is a new pathway that has opened up for me to explore.
I began to create digital art as an offshoot of my paranormal photography (which is displayed on this site in the 'Consorting With Spirits' gallery and can be found by clicking 'Other' on the menu bar).
It happened as a result of editing a photograph that had what looked like half a human face displayed vertically on it. Curious, I used the mirroring tool in an image editor and was pleased with the result, as it confirmed for me personally that it was a face, even if it wasn't clear enough to put into the gallery.
After this event, I used the mirroring tool to look at several images, and I began to notice something strange. Even taking into consideration the fact that mirroring images will usually bring into view formations that can be interpreted in many ways, like Rorschach Inkblot tests which often contain seemingly recognisable shapes, mine were a little different.
Though a lot of my photo's contain anomalies, they are often not too clear, and I try to use only those that can be easily seen and identified by other people.
During editing, I began to play with the mirroring tool more as I noticed that some of the pictures displayed forms that looked 'real', in that they contained eyes complete with pupils and details that I would usually recognise as anomalous. I was also finding a lot of symbology and imagery that appeared to be mystical, spiritual or occult in content.
I was amazed that this content always occurred in the exactly correct spot that would enable a complete mirror-image to form. It happened so often that I started to create art from these pieces. I also then began created art for it's own sake, playing with colors and imagery to create beauty and mystery through shape and form, whether or not they had paranormal content.
In other instances I have deliberately used photographs that contained vague faces, eyes and misty apparitions, as well as animal and elemental forms and luminous phenomena. This creates a powerful image.
I began to realise the possibility that these were also communications of a sort from 'Otherwhere'.
The interdimensional photographic experiments I am performing, even though I developed and worked on them alone, are part of a joint cooperative venture between psychic photographic mediums like myself and the world of Spirit that is occurring across the planet, (even if we never meet each other, or realise it's happening) and messages encoded in imagery are being received that are meant to help 'awaken' people to interdimensional possibilities at this time.
For a little while I couldn't see how the images required to make the entities and symbology that appear in my photographs, could always be in the right place at the right time for the later creation of the art. But of course, Spirit operates outside of time and space, effectively removing some of the problems we experience here in a dimension where linear time is used to measure the passage of events.
There is no commentary accompanying the art in this gallery, and anomalies are not pointed out. I present these pictures as art only, and anything else recieved from them while looking at them will be the unique and personal experience of the viewer.
A very few of the images are presented twice in different color combinations and configurations, because I felt they had more to offer that way.
Although the pictures are obviously digitally manipulated to arrive at the art, I have not at any time added faces, forms and figures or eyes artificially to them. if you see them, that means they are really present on the image, even though their color and texture may be changed.
Some of the images appear misty or softly focussed. Many of my photographs contain a fine 'psychic mist', and also movement. This gives them a unique texture and appearance, adding metaphysical and spiritual overtones to the art pieces through colored light, shape and form. Each one is an individual expression of hidden aspects contained within the landscape and everyday scenery around us waiting to be translated and interpreted.
Some of the art images will soon be available for purchase from the 'Silverbranch Store', so check back if you're interested. A link to Silverbranch can be found on the menu.
I hope you will enjoy your journey through my 'Underworld Reflections'.
